If you haven't heard by now how much fun this movie is or how it broke the $1 billion mark in its second week, it's all true and this movie delivers on the hype. Superhero movies have been great because directors and writers are able to instill drama into them that is believably human.

Joss Whedon does it on grand scale with multiple egos, and yet, every character is given ample screen time to voice their cause and resistance. Yearly 'top 10' films are usually reserved for hard-hitting dramas with highly emotional performances in them but I think The Avengers deserves a spot.

And they do exactly just that. They also whine and cry about it to each other in this heart-warming, family movie. This is the same director that did Jerry Maguire with that cute kid. He over-did it here with the little girl that she ended up being a bit annoying. Another annoying thing is the over usage of Sigur Ros' music, which I used to like until this film. Now, all I hear is starving mice.

If you're one of those people that liked Shoot 'Em Up, then you'll like this one too. Otherwise, you'll find this dumb to mildly retarded. It's like the clone of a Taratino film that escaped the lab way too early.

Let me be clear about this film. It is not good, but I like it. I'm really into the nostalgic, Sci-fi style, and the retro score that compliments it so well. Some of the nightmare-ish scenes remind of the psychedelic masterpiece, Pink Floyd: The Wall. If none of these things appeal to you, then it's best you stay very far away from this one...or else you'll probably regret it.

Gerald Butler gave a lot into this performance but the film feels detached. If I had not known this was based on a true atrocity, I wouldn't have believed it. There are moments that are genuinely inspiring and uplifting so by no means is it a bad film. I'm just not giving this a strong recommendation.

This film is totally aware of its own stupidity, which eliminates any skepticism I had for it. I thought this was going to be stupid, pointless, and something I would rent for $1 many months after its release. Wrong. This is the funniest movie I've seen so far in 2012.

Is this another film about the overly-used, high school, teenage, dramedy? Yes, it is, but this quirky one is more successful than others. These types of movies can be warmly entertaining or whiny and annoying. I'm glad to say that Submarine kept me chuckling and well-entertained all the way through.

I really, really should have watched the trailer before renting this; stupid me! I wasn't expecting much, I just wanted to see some twisted stuff, but I didn't even get that. The visuals and audio were as scary as Halloween decorations on a front porch.

Some critics are so upset that Holmes has turned into a crime-fighting, action ninja. Hollywood is going to give a face lift to every franchise they can get their hands on and we can't stop it. All we can do is hope that the movie is decent and fun, in which case, this was.

Like comedy? You'll laugh at this. If you like horror, you'll love this. If you do not like horror, you will feel "safe." If you're into Sci-fi, that's in here too. If you're a movie snob, you'll appreciate the well-written script. If silly, low-brow cinema is more your thing, then you'll have fun. The Cabin in the Woods is a ridiculous masterpiece!

For those curious. The less you know about this film, the better. Just go watch it.

It's no secret that the American school system is terrible and here's a deeper look as to why. This documentary isn't uplifting. On the contrary, it's quite horrifying. I think our children's futures are screwed and this time, donating money or waving signs around won't be enough.

This is hilariously bad and I love to hate it! The atmosphere in the beginning is upscale as it takes place in a high-end office and then in a sexy club with beautiful, young people. Towards the end, it turns into a homeless version of Ghostbusters.

Many of us guys have found ourselves in an "insane girlfriend" relationship before. Carl Jung (played by Michael Fassbender) on the other hand, started banging his mentally ill patient. Good one, Carl!

A Dangerous Method is philosophical, behaviorally bizarre, and slow. What more could you expect from a film about two famous psychiatrists bantering back and forth about sex and relationships.

You know what's going to happen next but it takes way too long to reach the inevitable, especially towards the end. Kristen Wiig had the role of being wallpaper while others performed their hearts out. I'm not crazy about the premise but everyone involved really wanted to make this good and it shows. For that, I can't knock on the film but I cannot recommend this either.

Some say that this is a charming character study of the nerdy-outsider genre. Others like to use words like "thoughtful" or "delightful" when reviewing Terri. I can agree with those descriptions but somebody forgot to say that this is one of the most boring movies ever made.

Hey, Zoe! Stop killing your enemies and making them mad, you crazy assassin girl. You're going to get all of your friends kill...gah, see? Now everyone is dead and you have nobody to practice your fake accent on.

Roland Emmerich's obsession with movies that ruin the past and the future is starting to make me think he's some type of man-child. Any chance he gets to lie to us or blow us up, he's all over it. In all honesty, this wasn't as bad (compared to his other films) but that doesn't mean you should watch it either. Let me rephrase that. Don't watch this.

I like this but I can never recommend it to anyone. The plot is paper-light and nothing really happens. It feels more like I'm hanging out with the characters, just chatting it up. That's where the lack of appeal is; who the hell wants to 'hang out' for a film? The most outstanding things here is the dialogue and the chemistry of the family (because they are a real family), but beyond that, most people will just flag this as a boring, hipster film that's a waste of time.

This drills deep into the uncomfortable depths of one man's dark addiction, which is performed remarkably by Michael Fassbender. The film is beautifully shot and there is a lot of sex involved but that does not mean it's sexy. Actually, it's filthy and sad. I felt pretty dirty after watching it but I'm glad I did watch it.

The girl cannot figure out which wire is the red one because the light shining on it is red. The light is fucking red. This film's premise is clever but it ended up in the wrong hands and turns out to be thee clumsiest heist movie I've ever seen. The director even managed to make Ed Harris look bad. Bastard.

Yes, it's twisted and over-the-top but that's OK. This plays out as one sick filmmaker's revenge fantasy and it's done it in a morbidly funny way. I genuinely laughed during moments that reminded me of Idiocracy (one of the best comedies). This isn't recommended if you're a casual comedy goer.

Another small-room thriller like, Buried or Phone Booth. I'm on the fence about recommending this because the idea is good (for a horror) but the execution could have been better. Either way, I'm glad those kids got killed. That's what they get for making me palm my face so much.

This is your classic, creaking old mansion that's haunted by a tormented ghost, type of film. There are plenty of cheap scares and over-done visuals but it's not bad. I liked it because it stays true to itself until the end and doesn't try to add some modern twist.

Godamnit, this movie is disgusting and horrifying. It starts you off in a very trashy town full of creepy junkies and other drudges of society. After all the disparity sinks in, you'll be greeted to man-rape, sadistic murders...ya' know what, I'm just going to stop right there.

What place? This film is all over the place. The story is stale and the direction is as wobbly as a blind drunk trying to walk a straight line.

It's rare to see great acting in a Sci-fi film and that's the main reason why I went to watch this. Jennifer Lawrence really pulls you into her dystopian world but I was treated with more than her good performance. I like Sci-fi, rad costumes, teenage violence, and this film delivers all that. As someone who did not read the books, I can say that this definitely lives up to the hype and I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

This is some incredibly lazy writing. It's another stereotypical, potty mouth movie that doesn't deserve your time. You know that cringing feeling you get when a dorky parent pushes up at the air and says something like, "raise da roof!" It's like that for two hours.

This film is as eerie as Micheal Shannon's face.

In all seriousness, it's a good one. Shannon performs so well that I gave in to his unpredictability as a border-lining madman. Near the end of the film, I was genuinely worried about what his intentions were towards his family. Take Shelter is one of the hidden gems of 2011.

This is irritating. I get that they're trying to go for the retro style of found footage but enough with the relentless eyesore of effects. If you're not annoyed or bored to death by the climax, then congratulations, you have managed to finish a crappy movie.

It's a shame that a lot of Americans don't know who TinTin is because this is worth the watch. I love the detailed art style of the characters and the graphics are amazing.

Going into this film, I was expecting a typical survival action thriller. To be fair, it is all those things, except typical. Sure, there are cheesy one-liners and guys being guys during a crisis but there's also more depth. The Grey has a poetic undertone of doing whatever it takes to survive or peacefully accepting death when there's no where else to go.

A psychological thriller that is creepy, yet, quiet. You're never sure what reality is taking place and you'll eventually come up with your own theories when the credits roll. I tend to dislike movies with open endings but there's something about this one that left me satisfied.

This is heart-breaking but I can't help to always mentally pause and discredit how exaggerated it is. I guess I couldn't watch this without having my guard up because a film like Detachment will do that to you. It makes you not want to believe how screwed up everything is.

Let this also be a warning that this movie is not as hopeful and touching as the trailer portrays it to be. Prepare yourselves, emotionally.

There is a hard truth about this story that a lot of writers ignore. Because of that, this depressing comedy will leave a bad taste in most people's mouths. Charlize Theron does a fantastic job at portraying an empty woman that is lost in her own, sad little world. Most people will hate her, some will laugh with her, while others might laugh at her.

Michelle William's ditsy performance of Marilyn Monroe is really fun to watch but you'll also get the emotional baggage that comes with her. If you're not in the mood to see depressing issues, don't worry, it's only one week with Marilyn and not some long-winded biopic.

This film is beautiful, imaginative, colorful, and wholesome. There is a lot of computer-generated graphics here but it's used in a highly tasteful way that compliments the film, not distract you from it. The story and its message isn't deep but it's well-told. This is one of those of movies that everyone, of all ages, can enjoy – and should.

I thought I was going to have to water-down my sense of humor because it's The Muppets. Not at all! I got quite a few good laughs out of this. Also, Kermit gets me every time he flips out.

Of course Meryl Streep puts on a grand performance as she transforms herself into the controversial Margaret Thatcher. Unfortunately, her performance is the only positive praise that this film earns. All the problems can be blamed on the pointless flashbacks, gap-filling montages, and the director focusing too much attention on the Prime Minister's old age illness.

I rented this because Ferrell, Reilly, and Galifianakis is in it. Don't let that fool you, this is the pinnacle of toilet humor and it's absolutely retarded. Although I did laugh a bit...for all the wrong reasons. Here's what you're getting yourself into:

As a fan of Daniel Day-Lewis (who isn't?), I completely forgot about the existence of this until it popped up on TV. It's a beautiful film but ultimately uneventful and I didn't get the excitement that Chicago had. The story is unimportant, the songs are not memorable, and now I see why I forgot about Nine.

A clumsy, dumb, and unfunny film with weak performances. When Eddie Murphy is the funniest character among all the others, that's got to tell you something. The other thing to laugh at is the script.

This is an overly sappy movie that will emotionally bully you until you give in to its heart-felt manipulation. The believers will call you a heartless monster if you mock this film. It's the producers of this film that are monsters for turning the 9/11 tragedy into this insulting and irritating piece of fiction.

This doesn't have the wild intensity that a Hunter S. Thompson related film should have. It's actually the total opposite – incredibly boring and uneventful.

I'm not a cat person but this film gave me enough laughs to change a bit of that and the "Oooh" cat definitely helped. This was also successful in avoiding all the things that made the last few Shrek films bad.

There's something un-captivating here unlike Clint Eastwood's other films. DiCaprio puts on a great performance, which I think he deserves more nominations for, but I can't say the same for the entirety of the film. It just seems like Eastwood didn't put as much attention into this one as he usually does.

This is about an asshole cop who does really asshole-y things in the LAPD. You'll follow him through his downfall and witness every angle of his asshole-ness. There is nothing redeeming about him except that Woody Harrelson puts on a smashing performance.

This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The concept was interesting until the film started. I thought it was a regular film so I tilted when I realized that this is a straight-up Jesus movie that's trying to convert you. Suing the Devil is only for Christian fanatics so don't watch it if you're not one of them.

Also, being $12,000 in credit card debt is not a sin. It's just irresponsible and stupid...like these film makers.

There's not a lot of controversy in this sequel because it seems like there's not much left to uncover. Instead of hard-hitting journalism, the film acts as a cheerleader for this new tech. I'm happy that cars are going green but it did not need a documentary to tell us that.
